FACIAL EXPRESSIONS
(commissioned project)
This commissioned project's goal was to create different expressions on a female character (based on a story-line that portrays a librarian) in order to apply the images on an educational video game.
The challenge was all about studying facial expressions, while comprehending the movements of muscles and their effect on eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth. I started by creating a female character with a neutral expression from where I could then move the anchor points of the objects and develop the entire chart.
Use of anchor points to create different expressions (Adobe Illustrator)
After completing the vector illustrations I then proceeded to color the faces on Photoshop - I did each one individually because I figured that each movement of the face changes the way a direct light behaves when touching the elements.
